Quando un’istanza non risponde ai nostri check quotidiani da più di 30 giorni non viene più considerata nelle statistiche e nelle ricerche e viene controllata solo il primo giorno del mese, invece che quotidianamente, fino a quando eventualmente rispondesse di nuovo, o finché l’ultimo controllo riuscito risalisse a più di un anno fa; in quest’ultimo caso, da quel momento viene controllata solo il primo giorno di ogni anno.

L’“ordinamento casuale” dei risultati varia quotidianamente.

Most importantly, have fun and be nice to each other! Our main priority is to protect our users from the darker part of the fediverse. Thus, we employ instance-wide pre-emptive blocking and muting of users and instances that are in conflict with the rules defined below.

Inactivity

After a long while of inactivity, accounts are scheduled for deletion. New and unused accounts will be scheduled for deletion quicker. This is to enhance the privacy of users that may have forgotten they have an account. Remember to retrieve a backup of your data before this time as the deletion is irreversible. A warning will be sent out before deletion in case the user has just forgotten about the account.

  1. Hate speech and discrimination, such as, but not limited to, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia and abelism and content illegal in Europe is not allowed in any form.
  2. Content warnings (CWs) are often either required or highly encouraged to keep our server safe and friendly for as many people as possible. CW-ing nudity, lewdness, politics, gore and spam-like posts are all mandatory. Failure to comply will result in account limiting.
  3. Bios (account biographies) should be kept "safe for work". Highly distracting, lewd or otherwise obscene avatar or header images are not allowed.
  4. Malicious or misleading information (such as, but not limited to, anti-science, fake news and hate brigading) are bannable offences. This also includes the encouragement and normalising of said information. Such content can, for example, include anti-vaccine and alternative medicine.
  5. Extreme political content, such as Nazism, authoritarianism, "tankieism", and extreme nationalism is a bannable offence. An exception to this are news stories and meta around these topics.
  6. Incitement of violence, regardless of the situation, is generally not allowed and appropriate content warnings is required as a minimum! We also realise that there is a difference between punching up vs. down, and that violence is sometimes unavoidable, such as protests.
  7. Advertising is discouraged and is allowed at the discretion of moderators. Commissions related to the arts, charitable causes (that are demonstrably not for-profit) and personal donation requests are exempt. A general rule is that if you think that it would be annoying, put it behind a CW.
  8. We do not allow any bots or automated services including crossposters from other social media sites. You can have a look at sites like "botsin.space" for that kind of stuff.
  9. Doxing and non-consensual breaches of privacy is not allowed and breaking this rule will most likely result in a ban.
  10. Posting uncaptioned media with public visibility is not allowed and will get your account limited, usually if repeated behaviour is observed. Twootsite is supposed to be an inclusive and accessible place. Only local posts are affected by this rule, not remote posts or boosts.

Our server rules are pretty straightforward, but this expanded version goes into detail:

  1. You must be 18 years or older to use this site.
  2. No adult content: including pornography, sexually explicit content, gore, or extremely graphic violence, including artistic depictions.
  3. Don't punch down: No content that reinforce or advocate social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion (or lack thereof)
  4. No content harmful to the public good, such as incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies, antivax or climate denial.
  5. No harassment, dogpiling or doxxing of other users
  6. No content illegal in Australia or Germany
  7. No corporate/brand accounts. Your art, homemade stuff, and community groups etc are fine. It's also fine to talk about your work/business from your personal account.

This service is provided on a best-effort not-for-profit basis by the NZ Open Source Society, a registered charity. Its maintenance is undertaken by volunteer members of the Society, and on-shore hosting in NZ is very generously sponsored by Prodigi, an Aotearoa-based technology services company.

Our Pledge: we have no intention of shutting this service down, but should that ever happen, we will provide at least 2 months grace for all users to ensure they can find another home in the Fediverse without losing any social credit.

We ask that all users are aware of - and adhere to - the New Zealand Open Source Society Code of Conduct.

  1. We expect you to be decent to others. You don't have to like other people, but we do not tolerate hate speech, homo/transphobia, fascist rhetoric or anti-science talking points.
  2. You can block people. If someone posts something you really don't like, block them. If it is something that goes against the ToS/Rules, report them, then block them.
  3. This server permits NSFW. That being said, nothing illegal should be posted, and content should be flagged as sensitive. We do log, and monitor, so if something is posted that shouldn't be, we will pass information to the authorities.
  4. Please use Content Warning liberally. This means if there is any question if something should have a Content Warning, give it a Content Warning. Examples include, but are not limited to, mental health, politics, and religion.
  5. Assume Good Faith (AGF): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith
  6. Content Warning policy. NSFW and lewd content must be set as unlisted or followers only in addition to proper tagging in the CW.
  7. Don't repost artworks without crediting the artist. If you have a link to their gallery, perfect, if only their name, better than nothing. Claiming other's art as your own may lead to suspension.
  8. Bots must be approved and must be marked as bots after approval. Failure to do so will result in the account being terminated.
  9. Bots must serve a purpose for the people on the instance. Examples of good bots include posting pictures from NASA, and posting news from local sources.
