This search engine for Mastodon instances is based on a database that gets updated by our crawler every night (CET).

Instances are considered new for 30 days after they are discovered.

When an instance has not responded to our daily checks for more than 30 days it is no longer considered in statistics and searches and it gets checked only on the first of the month, rather than daily, until it possibly responds again, or until its last succesful check is one year old; in this latter case, from that moment it gets checked only on the first day of each year.

“Random ordering” of results varies daily.

Default search criteria reflect our fondness for a decentralized and egalitarian Fediverse and our attempt to exclude instances accepting fascist, racist, sexist, ableist, sovereignist, pro-nuclear and pedopornographic contents by marking them as noxious.

Welcome to BLÅHAJ Social a Mastodon instance for BLÅHAJ and friends of BLÅHAJ.

What can you use?

We have a Mastodon server with full text search (on local posts) enabled, we offer LibreTranslate on posts in the web interface (data does not leave the network for this feature).

How do I support this server?

Currently we can handle all users with some spare capacity on private infrastructure and <$1 in object storage.

Environmental impact

Earth is the only home we have for our beloved sharks, we do our very best to take care of it! We host our servers in-house (except for CDN) with an energy provider that only invests our energy tokens in local green power (wind, solar, bio). Thanks to a new regulation we are currently investing in our own solar panels to power our server at daytime. Our hardware itself exists of pre-loved server hardware, expanding its lifetime and reducing e-waste (and honestly costs).

Fribygda er ei anarkistisk bygd ute på Allheimen, og et sunt alternativ til sentraliserte tjenester som Twitter.

Vi skal være et lite koselig sted for fritt uttrykk, fri utfoldelse og trygge omgivelser. Et perfekt sted for anarkister, venstrelibertarianere, og andre folk som misliker hierarki og elsker frihet.

På denne serveren har vi 18 års aldergrense, og dette er for å forhindre kjipe ting som selvsensur eller krav om ytterligere innholdsmoderering. Men nettopp av den grunn at vi har 18 års aldersgrense, skal det være ingen her som føler behov for å begrense (utover egen trengsel) deling av slikt som nakenhet/intimopplevelser, sex/erotikk, rusopplevelser, traumatiske opplevelser, og andre særlig personlige historier. Vårt samfunn skal være et trygt sted, hvor for folk kan føle at de kan være åpne om seg selv, og de tingene de er opptatt av. Dette kommer dog med en forventning, nemlig at man bruker innholdsvarsel dersom det man ønsker å dele kan være ubehagelig eller virke forstyrrende for medbygdinger. Det hele koker litt ned til denne tanken: i utgangspunktet er alt tillat, men av det du gjør, må du kunne rettferdiggjøre det også, og kunne vise at du har respekt og omtanke for de du deler server med. Greier alle sammen å vise en god grad av respekt og omtanke for hverandre, er det lite behov regler.

Om Språk

Fribygdas Natteravn kan til tider vise aspekter av sin Totning bakgrunn. Men dette er ingen standard for mål - her er det bare språkanarki 😄 Alle dialekter, all mangel på dialekt, alle minioritetsspråk, til og med alle fremmedspråk, fiktive språk, mangel på grammatikk og grovt sammenstabla setninger som knapt kan kalles språk - her er alt velkomment! Her taler enhver bygding slik de selv føler, om enn så BRÆTT dæ sku vøri.

Om Admin og Serverdemokrati

Fribygdas Natteravn er Fribygdas admin og moderator, og er en konto drevet av Amici Nybråten.

Fribygda er dog også en demokratisk server, så fra og med lansering vil alle derfor kunne foreslå server blokkering/avblokkering, og alle slike avgjørelser vil så utlyses via Fribygdas Natteravn, hvor folk kan komme med innsigelser på forslaget. Evnt. vedvarende uenigheter etter diskusjon løses gjennom avstemming via tut. Videre har alle brukere rett til å få admin kontoavgjørelser tatt opp til felles diskusjon via tut fra natteravnen, hvor de kan få en kjangse til å tale for seg, og evnt. få en omgjøring av vedtaket dersom andre medlemmer ønsker dette (igjen, så løses vedvarende uenigheter ved tut-avstemning).

Fribygda forholder seg til Mastodon Server Covenant, og i den forbindelse er det en del ekstra informasjon å avklare.

Hva er praksis for moderasjon?

Admin slår hardt ned på alt av rasisme, sexisme, homofobi, transfobi og ableism, og server som tillater slikt vil bli blokkert fra føderering med Fribygda. Admin har allerede blokkert / begrenset over 300 server i forbindelse med lansering, og har fortsatt arbeidet siden med å stenge ute server hvor bevisene ligger til for at de tillater denne typen faenskap. For annet innhold som skulle være enten særdeles ekkelt eller særdeles vondt, produsert med enten onde hensikter eller særdeles grov ansvarsløshet, vil admin også kunne se det riktig alt etter skjønn å gjennomføre begrensinger, blokkeringer, og sletting av server, brukere, og innhold.

Hva om noe galt skulle skje med teknisk infrastruktur?

Fribygda.no er ivaretatt av Masto.Host (https://mastodon.social/@mastohost) som sikrer oss regelmessig oppdatering, vedlikehold, og tilgang til daglig backup. Utover dette så er også Vegard Fjeldberg (https://fribygda.no/@vegafjord) reserve ansvarlig for serveren i tilfelle krise hos hovedansvarlige Amici Nybråten. Vegard har sikret tilgang til serverens offisielle Mastodon konto (https://fribygda.no/@fribygda), serverens epost, og serverens konto på Masto.Host for drifting av infrastrukturen, skulle det trenges.

Hva skjer dersom serveren legges ned?

Målet for fribygda.no er å vare så lenge som mulig, i mange mange år, men kommer den tiden hvor serveren skulle legges ned, så vil alle medlemmer bli varslet om dette minst 3 måneder i forveien (og gjerne lenger), som påkrevd av Mastodon Server Covenant, og dermed ha god til for å finne seg en ny server og migrere.

M6n is a home for Kubernetes, trans, and nonbinary folks in Mastodon. Started by Jaice DuMars, this small instance is co-moderated by Josh Berkus and Fabio Rapposelli. If Hachyderm is a little too busy for you, you may enjoy M6n. We hope you will find this a good place to post pet photos, tech news, political news, opinions, your latest culinary efforts, and jokes.

Targeted misgendering, deadnaming, or promotion of so-called "conversion therapy" is prohibited.
Harassing people in any way, racism, sexism or transphobia is strictly forbidden.
Harassment includes targeted campaigns against specific people.
Being a "minor attracted person" / pedophile spreading pictures of minors will get you erased and reported to authorities.
Accounts mainly used for spam, porn, advertisements or backlinking are immediatly deleted.
Do not break german or swiss law (no nazis or extremists allowed).
Do not post erotic content without content warning.

Short description(TL;DR of the core values)
This instance is strongly focused on user privacy, we save no IP(changing your IP with a random IPv6 before it gets sent to Mastodon), are accessible via tor and yggdrasil and use no cloudflare.
We use an hilarious amount of serverpower to provide the best possible experience, please let us know of any speed shortcomings.
Free speech is a precious good, but it has its limits.
We ban bigots, racists, terfs and users that break german or international laws, objections are denied in these cases.
As of recently, we support a 5000 character limit on toots.

Safety
Our strongest core value is to be a safe place for everyone, if we notice any kind of harassment coming from or going towards our instances,
the offending accounts are suspended without parole.

Privacy
Our server resides near Zurich, Switzerland, known to be a privacy fortress, additionally cooperating with a provider that is also heavily focused on privacy.

Security
We use the latest security technology to prevent sensitive data from being accessed from the outside with systems like CrowdSec and implementing the latest TLS standards. This includes not using Cloudflare at all as this would jeopardize your privacy as a huge MITM attack vector.
A sophisticated anti-ddos filter nullifies most attacks.
Daily full backups of the database and a daily incremental backup of media files are being made towards a different datacenter.

Performance
Another main goal is showcasing how fast mastodon can be by deploying it on one of the best machines money can buy in a one of a kind european datacenter.

Anonymity
The nginx webserver does not create any logs, Mastodon is being given a randomized false IPv6 each time you interact with it(we have written our own scrambling proxy for this) and we have a tor hidden service address. Also accessible via Yggdrasil Network(somehow redirects to https so it requires acceptance of our cert). Also an early supporter of WirSpeichernNicht (german for WeDontStore), a movement against the data retention law that was planned earlier in Germany, pledging not to make logs, we are also very happy that the VÜPF in Switzerland didn't happen.

Whatever comes up as features at Mastodon, we implement it, we want you to have the best Mastodon experience there is, this includes:
Full Text Search via ElasticSearch, Translation Service via LibreTranslate and a relay service via AodeRelay.

Longevity
The service is online since may 8th, 2017 and is here to stay, also thanks to the continuous support from our community.



Threads.net is blocked via domain block and iptables drop as the company has a horrendous past and does not at all align with our idea of privacy and safety.
Bridgy is blocked, as we do not want to rely on such services and rather promote using compatible standards.
