Blimpstodon, at blimps.xyz, is a Mastodon instance for inflation, inflatables, and generally swell critter lovers!

Blimpstodon is not a commercial group or entity, and currently is funded by myself (Kay) with help from donations from users like you. Every bit is greatly appreciated to help towards monthly infra expenses! 🎈🧡 You can donate at the Ko-Fi ^.^ I hope y'all have a good time!

We try to be lighthearted, literally and figuratively, but in order to do so, we need to lay down a few rules to make sure everyone has a swell time.

Rules

1. You must be 18 years of age or older
   While we don't only serve adult content, this side of online communities has a strong adult focus. To ensure everyone's safety and well-being, minors are not permitted an account on blimps.xyz and if we find out you're lying your account will be suspended. You MAY be granted access again once you turn 18. If we find out you're dodging through another account, or lie that you're 18 after being reinstated, you will be permanently suspended from access.
2. Be respectful
   Treat everyone on this and other instances with respect. We're definitely on the furrier side of things, so while I won't say "treat others like (I hope) you'd treat your mother", you get the idea.
3. No bigotry
   Like "Be nice", racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and any and all forms of bigotry will not be tolerated, period. The furry community is meant to be welcoming to folks, not exclusive.
4. Tag NSFW content as such
   While there is plenty of NSFW/adult content that this community can encompass, I expect everyone to use the Content Warning features of Mastodon to flag it as such to prevent automatically loading on others. If you will post it quite frequently, and don't wish to use the flags, you must set your account to locked when registering. We will use a three strikes system.
5. Zero tolerance for attacks
   Repeating, there is zero tolerance for bigotry and personal insults. First offenders will have their toot moderated and given a final warning. Second offense is a ban from the instance.
6. Report inappropriate behavior
   One of the great features for Mastodon is the ease of moderation in communities. Blimps.xyz expects all users to report any activity that violates the rules using the features built in to Mastodon for moderation and review. Use it!
7. No spam
   This is somewhat self-explanatory but is also further outlined below. We have a zero tolerance policy for any spam or abuse of this instance and will restrict or remove your account for spam. Don't blast messages like crazy, restrict advertising to legitimate recommendations only.
8. No doxing
   This counts as a personal attack and will not be tolerated. Blimps.xyz only collects information as outlined in our privacy policy, and will not release IPs or private information about users. You may not either. This is a zero-tolerance policy.

If you believe that a legitimate message you have sent has been filtered out by our systems, please advise the message recipient by another means or contact a moderator for assistance. 6. Receipt of unwanted messages from us In the unlikely event that you receive any message from us or sent using our systems that may be considered to be spam, please contact us by reporting the toot in question or messaging one of the moderation team.
7. Variation We may amend this policy at any time by publishing a new version on our website.

2. No bigotry is permitted. We do not tolerate hate speech of any kind, including transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, or any other facet of one's being.
3. Be respectful: Treat others with respect. Assume good faith with everything. Text has limited ability to convey intent; be kind with yours.
4. NSFW or kink-driven content must be behind a CW giving a short summary of the content (e.g. "NSFW Art, inflation"), while ensuring media is marked as 'sensitive'
5. Zero tolerance for attacks. Harassing other users, whether on this instance or another, is cause for immediate suspension of your account.
6. Copyrighted content may only be shared in fair use contexts. Basically, if it would earn a DMCA takedown request filed against us, don't post it directly.
7. Take care in sharing sensitive information. While the admins here simply don't have the time nor interest to pry in the database, law enforcement could still have access as your messages are not encrypted at rest, same as nearly all other platforms. When in doubt, use a private messaging platform.

The Mastodon server for the Drosophila community

This a Mastodon server for the Drosophila research community.

This server is meant to improve interaction among Drosophila scientists and aficionados. By joining this instance you will have access to the entire Mastodon universe and you will be able to read, follow and be followed by users on all other Mastodon instances in the world.

For now, this server has no special rules regarding moderation beyond the ones of common sense: do not be abusive, do not be nasty.

As the community grows, we will democratically try to set some rules of access or behaviour if needed but I trust it will probably not be necessary because everyone knows Drosophilists are kindest people.

The Waypoint community an inclusive, fun, and safe place to talk about games and other things. Waypoint is focused on "why we play" and that’s the common interest that brought us all here.

Note: We cannot guarantee that other Mastodon servers will adhere to our content warning standards. If you come across untagged content that you don't wish to see, please report it so we can hide it from the public timeline.

Rule 5: When posting someone else’s work (art, cosplay, and so on), please do your best to source it and provide links to the creator's social media or portfolio. If you don't have the source, do a reverse image search to look for it.

Rule 6: The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate ban: sexual depictions of children, Nazi symbolism, and promotion of cryptocurrency or NFTs.

Moderation Policy

The moderator team is made up of community volunteers who are not employed by and have no formal affiliation with VICE or its properties and should not be contacted with feedback or criticism for any content posted on vice.com or by its employees. The moderator team does not have input or control over content posted on vice.com, nor do they discuss editorial choices with the staff. They are not representatives of VICE, Waypoint Radio, or Motherboard.

We cannot see everything that goes on and have our own knowledge gaps. We are here to facilitate this server being as close to the goals laid out as possible, and we are always open to suggestions about how to do that, or to criticism about how we may have messed up. Please send a DM to the moderators to get in touch with us for any reason.

The mods take our rules seriously as they are what contribute to people feeling safe. All moderator decisions are made as a team; multiple people from different backgrounds offer their perspectives on each issue. Penalties include formal warnings and account suspensions, with scaling severity depending on the circumstances. Reporting offensive or unwanted content

If you come across content that breaks our server rules, whether it was posted by an account on this server or not, the best way to let the moderators know is to use the built-in Report feature. We may not be able to handle your report for a few hours, but rest assured that we take every report seriously. Mastodon has moderation tools that allow us to block accounts from other servers, or even block entire servers as needed to keep this space safe. We also highly recommend unfollowing, muting or blocking accounts that you do not wish to engage with, regardless of whether their posts violate our rules.
