About This Search Engine

This search engine for Mastodon instances is based on a database that gets updated by our crawler every night (CET).

Instances are considered new for 30 days after they are discovered (if you already have an account on the Fediverse and want to receive one daily post with a summary of the new Mastodon instances that our crawler discovers daily, you can follow @nmiab@kolektiva.social; alternatively, you can also view them here).

When an instance has not responded to our daily checks for more than 30 days it is no longer considered in statistics and searches and it gets checked only on the first of the month, rather than daily, until it possibly responds again, or until its last succesful check is one year old; in this latter case, from that moment it gets checked only on the first day of each year.

“Random ordering” of results varies daily.

Default search criteria reflect our fondness for a decentralized and egalitarian Fediverse and our attempt to exclude instances accepting fascist, racist, sexist, ableist, sovereignist, pro-nuclear and pedopornographic contents by marking them as noxious.

If your instance is behind a web firewall such as Anubis or Cloudflare, and you want it to be listed here, you must configure the firewall to allow our bot, which makes no more than a dozen HTTP requests per day, to connect to your instance, by whitelisting it by User-Agent and/or IP address. Our bot’s User-Agent is mastodon.help; the IP address from which it makes requests is the same as this site’s, 65.108.133.80.

Welcome to our fun general Fediverse instance! While HumanWords.party is fairly new as of the 1st half of 2026, this instance is the evolution of a couple of other fedi instances managed by an experienced fedi administrator who does work at taking care of his user base.

As Mastodon is quite a mature platform with good tools for users, moderators, and administrators, we see this will be a solid platform for the forseeable future.

Feel free to sign up! We enjoy having a community of decent human beings around!

    This instance is run by Stuart Hughes, a disabled and neurodivergent computer nerd, fighting game lover and avid fediverse advocate in his early twenties from the Northeast of England.

    What makes this instance special?

    • We have an extremely high character limit of exactly 1 and a half million, so feel free to write an entire blog post if you need to!
    • The instance is run by someone who is totally blind, so accessibility needs of users are always kept in mind.
    • We are very supportive of the LGBTQ community, plural systems, otherkin, furries etc. No one shall be judged here!
