This search engine for Mastodon instances is based on a database that gets updated by our crawler every night (CET).

Instances are considered new for 30 days after they are discovered.

When an instance has not responded to our daily checks for more than 30 days it is no longer considered in statistics and searches and it gets checked only on the first of the month, rather than daily, until it possibly responds again, or until its last succesful check is one year old; in this latter case, from that moment it gets checked only on the first day of each year.

“Random ordering” of results varies daily.

Default search criteria reflect our fondness for a decentralized and egalitarian Fediverse and our attempt to exclude instances accepting fascist, racist, sexist, ableist, sovereignist, pro-nuclear and pedopornographic contents by marking them as noxious.

This community is intended to give a safe place for those who are passionate about supporting Ukraine, Israel, Georgia, united under the rubric of fighting Russian disinformation and hybrid war that also affects Western countries (including those democracies in Asia, Latin America and Africa). We exist to create content, YouTube, podcasts, Substack, to inform, advocate and persuade our fellow citizens and our audiences wherever they are in the world, to take this threat seriously and to support these nations on the active war side of the struggle with Russia.

This Mastodon instance welcomes all, but is catering to the Canadian information security community first and residents of British Columbia second. To reduce spam, we do ask participants for a reason they wish to join. Before signing up, please review our server rules, which ultimately boil down to "please be respectful."

amarinha.gal é un espazo público para a xente que ten algún tipo de relación coa mariña lucense. Este proxecto nace da necesidade de ofrecer unha comunicación local e segura para a nosa comunidade. What are our goals? In the broadest sense Apricot Systematic is devoted towards communication, human communication. We believe that machines are simply a form of mirror or lens that people can use between themselves and on themselves. Every program, every machine, no matter how abstract, arcane, or seemingly removed from the common nature of human existence was created to serve as a conduit for human interaction. Even if it is an old archaic COBOL program written to count the number of checks written on a bank in a month it shares this purpose.

We want to help bring together book lovers, food enthusiasts, world event followers, Japan aficionados, and individuals of diverse orientations, cultures, and backgrounds. The platform offers a space for members to share their passions, connect with like-minded individuals, and engage in meaningful conversations in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Another generalized server for the furry community to help spread the load. We allow NSFW content (provided it is behind a CW - Check the rules). We have committed to the Mastodon Server Covenant

Special features

This instance has some modifications from the standard Mastodon source:

  • Video file size up to 512MB (normal instances are 40MB) and resolution up to 3840x2160@60fps (normal instances are 1920x1200)
  • Image size up to 5120x2880
  • Avatars and profile banners up to 10MB (Normal instances are 2MB)
  • Toot length up to 1000 characters

Server hardware specs

This server runs on physical hardware. It has dozens of cores, hundreds of gigabytes of memory and 36TB of ZFS RAID-Z storage with enterprise grade drives with 1TB of NVMe cache. It is in a datacenter and is backed up off-site daily. It also has multiple administrators.
