Please remember there are real people on the other side of the screen, and those people may have different feelings and opinions and experiences than you do. Some of them may be tired or having a bad day. Or you might.

You don't have to agree with someone to be civil to them. If you can't be civil to someone, leave them alone.

If you don't wish to interact with someone, or see any of their posts, there are tools at your disposal including mute and block functions.

If someone's posts make you angry or upset, take some time to calm down before you reply. You might also try simply excusing yourself from a conversation and ask them to untag you if you no longer wish to discuss a topic.

When someone asks you to leave them alone, leave them alone. If you feel like you can't control your urge to respond to that person, use the block or mute feature so you won't see their posts and be tempted.

Keep in mind that while you cannot control other people's behavior, you are still responsible for your own conduct, even if you feel someone was rude to you or someone else.

We will not allow abusive or disruptive conduct by or toward users on social.tchncs.de. We will also remove any content we judge to be hateful toward specific individuals or groups, or intended to cause or incite harm from the public timeline. This includes Ableism.

This guideline is intentionally vague because we do not intend to play "rules lawyer" on the subject of what it is and isn't okay to say about people. A good rule of thumb is, if you're about to say something you think might fall foul of this rule, you probably shouldn't say it. ☺

Timeline Flooding

In order to keep the best user experience, we ask you not to send like twenty toots in two minutes (exemplification) as people want to be able to see more than just one user in their timelines.
Of course we understand and may do an exception for critical reasons of yours like a kind of serious emergency situation for example.

Crossposting

Your account must not be used as a sole mirror of some other platform: by having an account on this server, the team and fellow users expect to interact with – and read from – a real and authentic person.
