👉 On meow.social, we never contact you for verification. The only confirmation occurs via an automated email at signup. That’s it.

🔍 Fake admin accounts are easy to spot — they usually come from other servers, since meow.social doesn't have open registrations.

✔️ The only official account we use for announcements is @TransparencyReports.
✔️ All staff members have a visible label on their profile, both on the web interface and in some apps like Tusky.

This instance is focused around the furry community, and is open to anyone interested in it. It was created originally for a small group of furry friends, but thought it might as well be open to all fluffies and scalies !

Meow is federated to nearly all instances of the fediverse, which means you can follow pretty much anyone you want, no matter what instance they are on!

While it is open publicly, mind this is just one instance in the fediverse, and we encourage you to look at other instances available to be sure it’s the one you like, and if none please you and you got the knowledge to set things up, why not help the fediverse grow by making your own instance too!

• If actions from users on other instances break our rules, check ifthe rules of the instance to which the user belongs are also broken before activating the "Forward to [instance]" option. You can go to the instance's "about/more" or similar "about" / "rules" sections to check. Instances that do no have any rules listed anywhere are de facto considered as unmoderated and will be suspended, you can specify the unmoderated nature of the source instance in your report.

Failure to respect any of rules will lead to a warning, content removal, silencing, and/or suspension of your account.

The Teams have the absolute right to decide to delete your account at their discretion.

We reserve the absolute right to take any actions regarding any instances that are connected with this instance. If your instance is detrimental to the overall good functioning of the fediverse or meow.social, we will silence or completely suspend it.

You may discuss with the admins if you feel you were unfairly sanctioned (through DMs or by sending us an email if your account is suspended), so long as you don’t try and force your way after the final statement has been decided.

1. Stay legal. Respect international laws, including the laws of France (where this server is hosted) and the laws of your own country.
2. Be respectful. Personal attacks, dogpiling, harassment, and stalking are prohibited. This includes harassing other servers because you disagree with their policies.
3. No hate speech. Content that is racist, sexist, transphobic, or otherwise hateful or discriminatory is prohibited.
4. No screenshot dunking. Do not post screenshots of other posts just to add negative commentary.
5. Suggestive and adult content is welcome but must set the sensitive content flag and have a reasonably detailed content warning (CW). Examples include nudity, sex, fetishes, kinks, blood, gore, and illicit drugs. A generic “NSFW” CW is not sufficient, telling what kinks are included is important.
6. IRL suggestive and adult content, including photo manipulations, must be posted as unlisted.
7. Suggestive and adult content depicting characters who are or appear to be under 18 is strictly prohibited.

9. Sensitive topics such as politics and religion must have a content warning. We agree these topics are important. We also believe users should be able to choose when to engage with them.
10. Requests for financial help are allowed in moderation.
11. Automated toots on Meow must be unlisted and comply with all relevant CW rules. This ensures the local timeline is preserved for people engaging directly with Meow.
12. Misinformation is prohibited. This includes conspiracy theories, propaganda, anti-vaccines, and climate change denial. Jokes posted behind a CW are permitted.
13. When posting art that is not your own, you must credit the artist in the body of your post. A link to the relevant webpage in the artist’s gallery is preferred.
14. No promotion of crypto. This includes cryptocurrencies, NFTs, blockchains, and similar technologies.
15. AI generated content must be posted behind an “AI content” content warning. Specify if possible "AI art", "AI writing", "AI photography" and so on.
16. Callout posts must include sufficient information in the post to justify the claims. Unsubstantiated callouts may be deleted.
17. You must be at least 15 years old to create an account on this server.
18. Neither avatars nor headers may contain anything that would require a content warning.
19. Do not impersonate another person or an organization you do not represent. This includes using someone else’s character or likeness without permission.
20. Parody accounts of brands and public figures are permitted. They must be clearly marked as parody in the profile description.
21. Bot accounts are permitted. They must be clearly marked as bots in the profile description. Bots that cause excessive server load will be suspended.
22. Ban evasion is prohibited. You may not create another account on this instance if your previous account was suspended.
23. (Not reportable) CWs and sensitive content flags are strongly encouraged, but not required, for posts likely to be triggering. For instance, consider a CW for posts with food/alcohol, eye contact, flashing lights, or spiders.
