C.IM is a general, mainly English-speaking Mastodon community.

We fully subscribe to and comply with the Mastodon Server Covenant. A number of instance blocks are implemented to comply with the principles of the covenant.

Our goal is to provide a long-term fediverse platform for everyone to share their thoughts, ideas and lifestyles.

Detailed rules

The following guidelines are not a legal document, and final interpretation is up to the administration of c.im; they are here to provide you with an insight into our content moderation policies:

• The following types of content will be removed from the public timeline:

1. Excessive advertising
2. Uncurated news bots posting from third-party news sources
3. Untagged nudity, pornography and sexually explicit content, including artistic depictions
4. Untagged gore and extremely graphic violence, including artistic depictions

• The following types of content will be removed from the public timeline, and may result in account suspension and revocation of access to the service:

1. Racism or advocation of racism
2. Sexism or advocation of sexism
3. Casteism or advocation of casteism
4. Discrimination against gender and sexual minorities, or advocation thereof
5. Xenophobic and/or violent nationalism
6. Spreading disinformation or conspiracy theories that undermine public health

You are encouraged to share your personal experiences here. But in doing so, please do not engage in personal attacks or make broad statements that attack/offend others - simply because of who they are. proposal by @fallingbeam

• The following types of content are explicitly disallowed and will result in revocation of access to the service:

1. Sexual depictions of children
2. Content illegal in the Netherlands (where c.im is hosted) or the Isle of Man (where c.im domain is registered), including holocaust denial or Nazi symbolism
3. Conduct promoting the ideology of National Socialism

• Any conduct intended to stalk or harass other users, or to impede other users from utilizing the service, or to degrade the performance of the service, or to harass other users, or to incite other users to perform any of the aforementioned actions, is also disallowed, and subject to punishment up to and including revocation of access to the service. This includes, but is not limited to, the following behaviors:

1. Continuing to engage in conversation with a user that has specifically has requested for said engagement with that user to cease and desist may be considered harassment, regardless of platform-specific privacy tools employed.
2. Aggregating, posting, and/or disseminating a person's demographic, personal, or private data without express permission (informally called doxing or dropping dox) may be considered harassment.
3. Inciting users to engage another user in continued interaction or discussion after a user has requested for said engagement with that user to cease and desist (informally called brigading or dogpiling) may be considered harassment.

These provisions notwithstanding, the administration of the service reserves the right to revoke any user's access permissions, at any time, for any reason, except as limited by law.

We currently keep local media files forever unless the user delete it.

We currently keep all remote media files for 90 days.

Donations

We have enough funds to run this instance, no donations needed.

Bot accounts are allowed, but you need to set the toot visibility to unlisted and mark your accounts to Bot.

Moderation

Moderation of this instance is based on interpretation of content posted to the instance against our published rules. We do not have the ability to investigate content outside this instance. If you are concerned about content posted to other instances, please contact the administration of the instance.

1. Respect the laws of the Netherlands and the Isle of Man, including those related to hate speech and defamation.
2. Threatening, abusive, intolerant or illegal behavior may lead to moderation and/or further measures. We have a zero tolerance approach to racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia. Moderation decisions are final.
3. The Content Warning flag should be used for NSFW content, and NSFW media should be marked as sensitive.
4. Account registrations are monitored and accounts considered spam (including commercial advertising, political campaigning/propaganda, duplicate accounts or impersonating legal entities) will be moderated or removed.
5. Do not harass or bully other users.
6. Do not share illegal or copyrighted content.
7. Do not spam or engage in any form of malicious activity.
8. Keep discussions civil and respectful, and refrain from using derogatory language or engaging in personal attacks.
9. Do not reveal personal information about other people without their consent.
10. Use appropriate tags and content warnings when posting potentially sensitive or triggering content.
11. If you see a violation of these rules, report it to the moderation team.
