Manual approval of new accounts is required. Please write some applicable request text on signup with why you want to join. Submissions that fail to do so will be denied. We do not federate with Threads and have no intention of that changing.

1. Federating with indiepocalypse.social is not guaranteed. Links between federated instances are temporary and may change or disappear at any time.
2. Other instances may not disseminate our users' original content or toots without credit and proper licensing.
3. Other instances may not use automated means to analyze any derived work for publication or profit without indiepocalypse.social's users' consent. This includes serving ads next to copyrighted content.
4. Public toots are derived works that are protected by copyright.
5. This instance honours noindex/nofollow and search engines are not allowed to index content from such users.
6. Crawling the content of the instance and creating a database of its posts and content for the purposes of archiving, searching, or analyzing is prohibited. We value our users' privacy and their ability to control how their data is utilized.
7. We will block, suspend, or silence any instance which permits any of the content or behaviour prohibited by this instance.

1. Free speech does not mean freedom from consequences. No racism, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, xenophobia or bigotry of any kind are allowed.
2. Indiepocalypse has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, dogpiling, bullying or doxxing.
3. No NFTs, no crypto, no blockchain. There are crypto-related instances on the Fediverse that are better suited.
4. The following content will be removed and will result in revocation of access to the service: sexual depictions of minors, beastiality, and promotion of Nazi symbolism and ideology.
5. Promotion of your games, projects and storefronts *are* allowed and encouraged, but spam is not. Do *not* directly message users to advertise.

8. Accounts for groups / organizations / brands / sites / doujin circles, et. al are welcome as long as they are indie. If you question if your group is "indie", feel free to ask!
9. AI-created and AI-altered art and writing is generally **not** allowed on this instance. There are valid ethical concerns regarding what material is being used to train models for AI bots.
