Founded in January 2023, this has been a one-person instance. But I'm open to letting it grow into a space for fellow advocates of human rights, democracy, peacebuilding, and justice.

This Mastodon instance was started at the end of January 2023 by Adam Isacson, Director for Defense Oversight at the Washington Office on Latin America: @adam@elefanti.co. (Adam is speaking for himself here: opinions are not necessarily the vetted view of WOLA.)

Adam started this instance because he got tired of seeing what happens when we don’t own our own spaces on the internet. Our social media presence should belong to us. Mastodon’s federated structure allows that.

While this has been a one-person instance, perhaps it could grow into a space for advocates of human rights, arms control, peacebuilding, democracy, migration, environmental justice, racial justice, gender justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and similar work.
