gaybdsm.group will be shutting down on May 31.

gaybdsm.group is a Mastodon server where LGBTQ people into or curious about the world of BDSM can discuss and share topics, information, experiences, and even some stories, marks and bruises from scenes. This server is owned, funded, and operated by John @JcbtMI in my spare time.

After joining Mastodon, I quickly found that other servers have been reaching capacity and closing to new registrations. While the capacity of this server is not limitless, this is a way I can give back to the community and provide a safe space for people to immerse themselves in the BDSM world, make new connections, and maybe even make a few new friends or play buddies along the way.

While I am not yet an expert at Mastodon server administration, I sure will try my damn best to do a good job. I have a full-time job and also enjoy BDSM playtime of my own, some of which I get to record and publish videos, so I may not always be available to extinguish fires. My hope is the service which hosts this server is stable enough to run without much intervention.

1. You must be at least 18 years of age to use this server.
2. Be friendly, civil, and kind to everybody.
3. No racism, homophobia, transphobia, hate speech, sexism, kink-shaming, or body-shaming. This is your only warning.
4. Use content warnings (CW) AND mark media as sensitive for posts and images that are "not safe for work/web" or basically adult-oriented (pornography, nudity, erotic, etc.) content.
5. Post original content with permission of all people included in your posts or images. Content you do not own should have the appropriate citation.
6. No underage (child pornography), beastiality, non-consensual / rape, or otherwise illegal content, postings, images, or depictions allowed.
7. Do not post any content or links that support, promote, or indicate hate groups, criminal, malicious, or terrorist activity, violence, or incitement of the aforementioned.
8. No advertisements or solicitation for commercial products or services.
9. Nudity & adult-oriented imagery (pornographic, erotic, etc.) is not allowed in your profile banner/header or avatar image.
10. Provide a complete answer for "Why do you want to join?" with your application. This should be at least one full sentence -- related to BDSM or kink.
