Acceptable Use & Content Moderation PolicyThe Voiceover BarAbout Us: The Voiceover Bar (including Mastodon, Pixelfed, and Peertube instances) is a safe, welcoming space designed specifically for voiceover artists, actors, producers, engineers, and audio production creatives—both amateur and professional—to meet, network, share ideas, and collaborate.
Community Standards:All members are expected to maintain a civil, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere. We have zero tolerance for:
- Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior.
- Hate speech or discriminatory behavior, including but not limited to racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, misogyny, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, etc.
- Ignoring or disrespecting a user's pronouns.
- Far-right extremism, including nativist, alt-right, neo-Nazi, and similar ideologies.
- X-rated or explicit adult content (e.g., sexual nudity, graphic violence). If discussing adult-oriented productions, provide external links clearly labeled, rather than posting explicit content directly.
- Spam, advertisements, and schemes (e.g., cryptocurrency scams, NFTs, get-rich-quick schemes).
- Disinformation or misinformation campaigns (e.g., anti-vaccine or harmful conspiracy theories).
Casting Call Guidelines:When posting casting calls, clearly include: - Union affiliation (or specify if non-union). - Rates (including buyout details, if applicable). - Clear and direct contact details.
User Reporting & Moderation Process: - Reporting: Users may report problematic content or behavior using Mastodon's built-in reporting system or by directly contacting moderators @kayeluvian or @cloudquinn.
- Moderation Team: Moderation is managed by @kayeluvian and @cloudquinn.
- Response Time: Reports will be addressed as soon as possible, typically within 24 hours. In certain circumstances, response times may extend up to five days.
- Communication: Moderation outcomes will generally be communicated directly to the reporting user via private message. Significant issues affecting the broader community may result in an instance-wide announcement.
- Appeals: Users may appeal moderation decisions using Mastodon's built-in appeals mechanism. Appeals based on new evidence or mitigating circumstances may be granted at moderators' discretion.
Enforcement & Moderation:Violations of this policy will be addressed swiftly and proportionately, depending on severity: - Minor infractions may result in a
first warning. - Serious or repeat offenses may result in
permanent suspension or banning.
The Voiceover Bar actively blocks instances identified as harmful or problematic via the blocklist provided by
Oliphant Blocklists.
We regularly review and may update this policy to maintain compliance with relevant legislation, including the UK's Online Safety Act.
