This is unstable.systems, a general-purpose invite-only Mastodon instance. We'll always be pretty small, and we hope to be a comfortable instance to be on. This instance is maintained by demize.
We have a status page hosted on statuspage.io, which is accessible through https://status.unstable.systems (which redirects to https://unstable-systems.statuspage.io). Planned maintenance will be announced there, and any updates on unexpected downtime will be communicated through there.
If you're interested in the technical details: this instance is running the Treehouse fork of Mastodon. It's running on a dedicated server from OVH, hosted in Quebec, Canada, with a Xeon-E 2386G, 32GB of RAM, and 512GB of RAID1 SSD disk space. This server is dedicated to this instance. Media files (including cached media files) are stored in OVH High Performance Object Storage, also in Quebec, and served through a caching proxy on the same server (using nginx).
There are currently no methods to support the instance financially, nor are there plans to request financial support from any users. This is offered as a courtesy, primarily to demize's friends who want accounts.
This server includes the Blobfox, Neofox, and BunHD emoji sets from volpeon.ink, which are shared under Apache 2.0 (Blobfox and BunHD) and Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 (Neofox). It also includes the BlobCats and GooglyBlobCats sets from DuckOfDisorder, licensed under Apache 2.0.
