Code of Conduct

The following guidelines are not a legal document, and final interpretation is up to the administration of eigenmagic.net; they are here to provide you with an insight into our content moderation policies:

1. Happiness is encouraged.

2. Be excellent to each other.
3. Have fun.
4. Don't be a dick.


2. The following types of content will be removed from the public timeline, and may result in account suspension and/or revocation of access to the service:
   
   
   1. Racism or advocation of racism.
   2. Sexism or advocation of sexism.
   3. Discrimination against gender or sexual minorities, or advocation thereof.
   4. Xenophobic and/or violent nationalism.
   5. Anti-sex worker perspectives or advocation against sex workers.
   6. Homophobia, biphobia or transphobia. Trans rights are human rights.
   7. Gore and extremely graphic violence, including artistic depictions.
   8. Suicide or self-harm: You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.
   9. Stalking or fixated targeting of individuals, including advocating physical, sexual, or emotional harm against individuals or groups.
   
   Power dynamics will be taken into account. Punch up, not down.
   
   
3. The following types of content are explicitly forbidden and will result in revocation of access to the service:
   
   
   1. Content illegal in Germany and/or France, such as holocaust denial or Nazi symbolism. (No Nazis)
   2. Conduct promoting the ideology of National Socialism. (Seriously. Absolutely no Nazis.)
   3. Sexual depictions of children.
   
   
4. Also forbidden:
   
   
   1. Impeding other users from using the service, or inciting others to do so.
   2. Degrading the performance of the service, or inciting others to do so.
   3. Collecting data about users of this service without express, written permission. If you want to do research, ask first.
   4. Continuing to engage in conversation with someone that has specifically requested for said engagement to cease and desist may be considered harassment, regardless of platform-specific privacy tools employed.
   5. Aggregating, posting, and/or disseminating a person's demographic, personal, or private data without express permission (informally called doxing or dropping dox) may be considered harassment.
   6. Inciting users to engage another user in continued interaction or discussion after a user has requested for said engagement with that user to cease and desist (informally called brigading or dogpiling) may be considered harassment.
   
   Penalities for this sort of behaviour will scale in proportion to the severity of the violation, and may include revocation of access to the service.

5. We do things differently here.
   
   
   1. Hide politics and religion posts behind a Content Wrapper (CW) so people can choose whether or not to engage with that stuff here.
   2. Consider: Does thinking or talking about this thing make me angry or sad or both? If so, a Content Wrapper is probably a good idea.
   3. Consider: Does everyone really need to see my rant? Maybe limit that post to just your own followers rather than sending it to everyone in the Fediverse.
   4. Cross-posting from other places is discouraged. If you feel you must, cross-posting must be placed behind a Content Wrapper (CW) and clearly labelled as a cross-post.
   5. All automated posting bots must be labelled as bots.
   
   

These provisions notwithstanding, the administration of the service reserves the right to revoke any user's access permissions, at any time, for any reason, except as limited by law.

This site is owned and run by @daedalus.

Tyrant

This site is ruled by a @tyrant. It is not a democracy.

Displease the tyrant and you will be thrown to the kittens.

The tyrant may decide to appoint other moderators and/or administrators from time to time, according to their whim.
