Long description
jauntygoat.net is a public participant in the modern federated social media universe ("Fediverse").

Creation was driven by these lofty goals:

  • Privacy, and user-ownership of data.
  • A fundamental opposition to data mining, tracking and treating people are advertising target objects.
  • A belief in freedom of speech, association and expression.
  • An understanding that small communities can self-regulate and deliver excellence towards their members in a way that large-scale advertising engines can't.
  • The world needs more goats, both traditional goats and their antelope-related friends.
Instance rules
  1. Be reasonable.
  2. User impersonation is a tired joke that was done here over a year ago.
  3. Commercial activity is permissible here, but please be respectful and do not engage in behaviour that could be considered spam. Remember, if you're unsure, you can ask before acting.
  4. We're less rules-y and less block-y than other instances, but that doesn't mean we tolerate bad behaviour.
