This is a small, friends-oriented server run by Stephen Brennan. Here's some quick info about the server.

Approval is required to create an account. I'll only approve new accounts from people I know or have a good reason to accept. If you don't know me, you'll have to make a pretty good case.

I run this server on my own dime and time. I'll do my best to regularly keep things up-to-date with security updates and reboots. There's one machine so that means there will be occasional downtime. Sorry!

Keep in mind that I'm your server admin, and I have access to all your toots - even private DMs. Of course, I'm not seeking anything out, in fact I promise never to look at anything in the database except for the purposes of diagnostics and support. But it would be wise for you to not post anything sensitive, regardless of the privacy level. Further, privacy levels are "advisory" at best. If your message leaves this server (e.g. you set it to "followers-only" and you have a follower on a different server) then that server's admin can read your toots, and their software could disregard your privacy level entirely. So again, just be wise how you use this service.

1. Be kind and respectful of others. This includes respecting things like pronouns, using content warnings as appropriate, etc.
2. Don't post anything illegal (duh).
3. Don't post anything designed to shock or disgust people.
4. This is not a NSFW server. I don't particularly care about the occasional not-quite-SFW post. I'm not puritan. But just don't make your account all about NSFW content. That's all!
5. Disagreement is fine, other opinions are welcome. Keep your discussion and disagreement civil and try to avoid ad hominems. If you venture into areas of denying other people's human rights, you'll find that you'll lose your rights to post here pretty darn quickly.
6. No threats of violence, etc.
7. I'll do my best to use a three-strike system and reach out regarding moderation decisions. But at the end of the day, this is not Elon's "public square". I don't owe you free speech. You can host your own Mastodon server if you want. I can, and will, make any moderation decision I feel is necessary.
