FreeSewing is an open source library for parametric design, with a specific focus on sewing patterns. It is maintained by Joost De Cock (that's me, FreeSewing's benevolent dictator) with contributions from various people, and financially supported by the FreeSewing patrons.

When you engage with the FreeSewing community, please remember the following simple rules:

Be nice

We will not accept comments that are either offensive in themselves or clearly offensive to others.

Please avoid obscenities and other insulting language, and show respect for fellow users, public figures and the fundamental principles we hopefully all share.

Without wanting to be exhaustive, that means no racism, xenophobia, calls to violence, discrimination based on religion, ethnic origin, gender, age, body shape, language, ….

Don’t spam

You are free to use freesewing.social for your personal account on the fediverse and talk about things that are not related to FreeSewing. However, we would appreciate it if you refrain from posting advertisements or spam.

(I appreciate that this is open to interpretation, so as a guiding principle steer clear of anything that reeks of an effort at bulk monetization)

Don’t get us in trouble

Content that is defamatory, unlawful, or puts us in legal jeopardy is also against the rules.

Moderation

This Mastodon instance is managed by joost, and a small number of trusted friends help with moderation. This is the moderation team and we will enforce the rules as outlined in our code of conduct.

We rely on the community to report content or behaviour that goes against our values.
