Currently wig.gl is not seeking funding. This is privately managed, using 'spare' compute and storage resources that are being provided by AussieVoIP, and the owner @xrobau (who you may know - he's an Open Source developer, who lives in Gladstone, QLD)

As it is technically complex (and expensive!) for those that want to run their own Mastodon Instances, we also provide pro-bono hosting for smaller niche instances.

Mastodon Server Covenant Commitment

We're committed to the Mastodon server covenant. This requires us to agree to the following:

• Active moderation against racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia.
• Daily backups of user data.
• At least one other person with emergency access to the server infrastructure.
• Commitment to give users at least 3 months of advance warning in case of shutting down.

1. No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies.
2. Threatening, abusive, intolerant or illegal behavior will be removed. We have a zero tolerance approach to racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia.
3. The Content Warning ("CW") flag should be used for anything that, again, you wouldn't feel comfortable showing to your grandmother. This includes NSFW content, gore, and other similar items.
4. Account registrations are monitored. Even though account signups are open, your account may be suspended if a human considers it potentially fake or bot.
5. Always be kind to each other. Don't say anything you wouldn't face to face.
6. This server, and your data, is in Australia.
