1. A masto.nyc user must be a resident, worker, or organization local to the New York Metropolitan area.
2. Be neighborly. We New Yorkers are not always nice, but we gotta be kind. Speak your mind and your heart, but don't be an abusive jerk about it.
3. All sexually explicit or violent media must be marked as sensitive.
4. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or casteism.
5. No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies.
6. No harassment, dogpiling or doxxing of other users.
7. No content illegal in New York.
8. No intentionally and harmfully false or misleading information.
9. No spam.
10. No bad-faith accounts. We suspend accounts that clearly have no intent to respect our community's purpose. Examples include accounts that post only generative-AI slop, and sockpuppet accounts.
