Linguists.Social aims to be a community of professional translators and interpreters around the world. To connect, share experiences and thoughts about our work, the language industry and more!
- Linguists.Social was set up and is adminned by Monika (@mon) & Tom (@tommleko). Tom is our go-to person for anything tech-related here.
- We use Mastodon. You can chat with thousands of people that are also part of other Mastodon networks.
- We adhere to the Mastodon Server Covenant for moderation, backups, access to infrastructure and communication if we shut down. Linguists.Social is hosted on Cloudplane. Cloudplane manages software updates and overall security.
- This is not a commercial project; it's free and unmonetised, and run by volunteers. At present no donations are needed, the server costs are covered by Monika & Tom.
