This Mastodon instance welcomes all, but is catering to the Canadian information security community first and residents of British Columbia second. To reduce spam, we do ask participants for a reason they wish to join. Before signing up, please review our server rules, which ultimately boil down to "please be respectful."

1. This server's code of conduct is largely borrowed from BSides San Francisco's Code of Conduct from 2023
2. No discriminatory jokes and language
3. No posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material
4. No Doxing - No posting (or threatening to post) other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”)
5. No personal insults related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability
6. No repeated harassment of others. In general, if someone asks you to stop, then stop
7. No violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person
8. No unwelcome sexual attention, including sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate messaging, or language
9. No deliberate intimidation or stalking
10. No advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
11. All rules are set and enforced at the service operators discretion.
12. English is the primary language of this server. The moderators and administrators reserve the right to remove posts if they are unable to be easily translated using freely available translation tools to determine if they violate our policies
