The internet can be a hostile and cold place, especially to those willing to show a little vulnerability and ask for help. Situations such as this can sometimes be met with ridicule, immaturity and hate by those answering back.

Why can’t we build a place to show a little kindness?

Whether you're left, right, north, south, liberal, center, or living in the fourth dimension, all are welcome here, regardless of your color, class, religion and race. The only thing Myopic.one seeks are open-minded and civil people interested in bettering themselves and helping others do the same. Olive branches galore!

This is a social media platform at the end of the day, feel free to bring your memes, cat posts, lunch pics, movie spoilers and whatever you'd like to share with the community.

As long as its legal and respectful, feel free to make this slice of the internet as cozy and homely as you like!

Building a community like this can seem like a pipe dream, and truly only seems possible in small numbers, so this instance will be limited to 100 members max.

For the purposes of dissuading trolls, spam and anyone intending to cause conflict, please provide an existing account for reference when signing up.

1. Do not harass anyone, participate in group harassment of anyone, or otherwise engage in personal attacks. Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”) constitutes harassment.
2. Do not post spam. Toots that are nothing other than a link and/or contain an inordinate number of hashtags are spam, as does any overly commercial self-promotion. (It is fine to toot about your own projects and share what you are excited to be working on — just keep the toot itself interesting).
3. Do not post about inflammatory, controversial subjects without a Content Warning.
4. Do not tone police. Toots may violate the standards of civility we set on Myopic.one, but you should not criticize users for their tone. Report them or feel free to block them. In neither case should you criticize their tone.
5. Do not attempt, under any circumstances, to use Myopic.one to engage in, publish or contribute to any form of illegal activity, whether housed on this server or otherwise.
6. Do not engage in discourse with the intent to anger, distance, gaslight or generate conflict with others.
7. Abuse of the Report feature, and attempts to engage mods to ban other users without demonstrable breach of instance rules will be interpreted as an attempt of targeted harassment and in breach of Rule 1.
8. Do not use automated tools to toot without participating in the community. It is fine to post with an automated tool so long as you are an active member of the Myopic.one community and respond to replies you receive here. Unmonitored accounts that post automatically are not acceptable.
