Federation

We federate with the parts of the fediverse that are, for the most part, Safe-For-Work, and have active moderation against hate speech, including racism, sexism, and homophobia. Servers that do not meet this standard will be Suspended, meaning there will be no communication between this server and the violating server.

Servers that generally don't provide quality content but otherwise do not meet the criteria to be Suspended are subject to be Silenced, meaning their toots will be hidden by default, but this server's users can still follow and boost content from that server.

Content Security

This server is hosted in San Diego.

Local backups of your content are made on a rolling basis, with four daily backups, one monthly backup, and one yearly backup kept.

Your content is encrypted at rest.

Your content is distributed across a raid-z2 array, meaning it has good, but not perfect, immunity against hard drive failures. All hard drives are solid state drives (SSDs).

Your content is not backed up to a a second location. This means, under a critical failure, such as a natural disaster or act of god, your content could be lost.

You are advised to maintain a backup of any content you would like to keep.

Administration

The official Admin account is @SanDiegoUrbanists. It is currently operated by @NevoMagnezi. The secondary admin is @acdingman
