We are an #NSFW 18+ art instance focused on Bara art / Gei Komi (Gay Comics) for both artists and fans. ‘Bara’ comes from a Japanese word for gay, erotic art featuring masculine men. It is primarily drawn by men for men and is generally pornographic. We are trans and furry inclusive. Monster fuckers are welcome too.

Since our instance is explicitly NSFW all user content will be marked sensitive.

We are an adults only instance, and as such we typically do not restrict federation with other instances. Exceptions may be made in certain situations to:

• Prevent spam and ads.
• Prevent or mitigate incoming harassment.
  
  
  • This includes instances that advocate for far-right and reactionary politics or encourage hate speech.
  
  
• Reject corporate entryism into the fediverse, AI training, data collection, etc.
  
  
  • Meta’s threads.net is blocked.
  
  

Any moderation of other instances as described above will be publicly posted.

Fediverse is a pretty laid back, respectful place. Let’s keep it that way.

  • If they’re being outright disrespectful or hateful you can tell them to fuck off, just report and block them if they don’t.
  
  
• If you dislike someone’s art or comments, or they’re trolling, use your mute or block functions first. If they circumvent your mute/block report them to the mod team.
• If someone is not replying to you, do not take it personally and move on.
• Report posts that break the rules. We’re pretty lax so this should be rare.

Here are the basics to get you started:

• You can access bara.gallery either through your browser or one of several free, open source apps.
• Understand the different timelines
• Create filters and mute/block users or instances to prevent yourself from seeing content you dislike in your timelines.
• Content warnings are added with a button in the post editor.
• If you want posts to be toggled visible by default, go to your account preferences, appearance settings, and under Sensitive Content select ‘Always show media’. You can additionally always expand CW’d posts by checking the box for ‘Always expand posts marked with content warnings.’
  
  
  • If you use both an app and the browser, you will have to set this in both.
  
  
• Account addresses are structured as @username@instance.domain. If you search for a user on another instance, be sure to always include the instance domain.

2. This is a Bara focused instance so all subjects in your posted artwork must be visibly sexually mature to a reasonable degree.
3. No photographic content except of yourself and those you have explicit consent from such as friends or cosplayers. But no thirst traps.
4. All pornographic posts must be tagged #NSFW
5. All posts featuring potentially triggering or extreme fetish content must be appropriately tagged and described in the content warning section of the post.
6. When posting art that is not your own, you must properly credit the artist in both the description and image alt-text. When possible, link to an official account for the artist.
7. Do not post paywalled content from creator platforms.
8. No AI generated images allowed.
9. No crypto scams allowed.
