-- A Note on Downtime --

This server is running self-hosted on older hardware. Efforts are made to schedule downtime and respond quickly to issues, however I cannot guarantee that some downtime will not be significant. If you cannot tolerate less than 99.9% uptime please consider other servers.

-- Server Privacy --

The entry point for this server, the public facing site and what all other federated servers interact with, is a special node set up on Digital Ocean's San Francisco data center. The server itself is hosted in Cypress, Texas. This is facilitated by a secure encrypted connection between the VPS (Virtual Private Server) in San Francsico and the server in Cypress, Texas. This means that the data hosted on this server is in the state of Texas however your access of the server is still through San Francisco, California.

Please note that the server itself makes outbound connections to other servers from Texas (I am currently working on rectifying this issue).

All this is to say if you're uncomfortable with your data being hosted in the state of Texas, please do not use this server.
