Instance rules

Adapted from the mastodon.social Code of Conduct

Please note that the rules below should not be considered a legal document and may be interpreted by the moderation team of tooting.ch as they see fit. This is only an overview which provides you with the general moderation policies you'll have to expect when using this instance.

Offenses against the rules can generally be categorized as one of the following:

• Minor offenses
• Moderate offenses
• Major offenses

Minor offenses

Minor offenses will be handled by removing the content in question, hiding sensitive content behind a content warning or issuing a warning to the offending user. The risk of facing consequences like account suspension after one minor offense is very low.

The following list is an (incomplete) list of actions that count as a minor offense:

• Nudity, pornography or other explicit material without content warning ( or CW) and appropriate description
• Gore or extreme violence without content warning and appropriate description
• Excessive advertising, be it manual or automated
• Uncurated cross-posting from third-party sources such as news sites

Moderate offenses

Content that counts as moderate offense will lead to removal of the offending content. Additionally, depending on the circumstances, further actions that range from a warning to account suspension are likely to be taken.

• Racism or advocation of racism
• Sexism or advocation of sexism
• Discrimination against minorities of any kind or advocation thereof
• Xenophobic and/or violent nationalism or advocation thereof
• Stalking or harassing other users or encouraging others to do so
• Doxing, that is, aggregating, posting or spreading a user's private data, or encouraging others to do so, without their express permission
• Brigading or dogpiling, that is, continuously engaging another user in conversation or discussion after said user has asked for this engagement to stop

Major offenses

If content is classified as a major offense, it is removed and leads to an immediate suspension of the offending account. Furthermore, the account holder will be reported to the authorities if appropriate and applicable.

• Explicit depictions of children
• Content illegal in Switzerland, such as hate speech
• Promotion of the ideology of national socialism
• Impeding other users' access to or degrading the performance of this instance or the attempt thereof

Infractions mineures

Les infractions mineures seront traitées en supprimant le contenu en question, cacher un contenu sensible derrière une mise en garde sur le contenu ou l'émission d'un avertissement à l'utilisateur fautif. Le risque de faire face à des conséquences telles que la suspension du compte après une infraction mineure est très faible.

La liste suivante est une liste (incomplète) d'actions qui comptent comme un délit mineur:

• Nudité, pornographie ou autre matériel explicite sans avertissement de contenu ( ou CW) et description appropriée
• Sang ou extrême violence sans avertissement de contenu et description appropriée
• Publicité excessive, qu'elle soit manuelle ou automatisée
• Poster tout et n'importe quoi de sources tierces telles que de sites d'actualités

Infractions Modérée

Le contenu qui est considéré comme une infraction modérée entraînera la suppression de l'élément offensant. De plus, selon les circonstances, d'autres mesures allant d'un avertissement à la suspension du compte sont susceptibles d'être prises.

• Racisme ou plaidoyer pour le racisme
• Sexisme ou plaidoyer pour le sexisme
• Discrimination à l'encontre des minorités de toute nature ou plaidoyer en faveur d'une telle mesure
• nationalisme xénophobe et/ou violent ou plaidoyer de celui-ci
• Parler ou harceler d'autres utilisateurs ou encourager d'autres utilisateurs à le faire
• Doxing, c'est-à-dire agréger, afficher ou diffuser les données privées d'un utilisateur, ou encourager d'autres personnes à le faire, sans leur permission expresse
• Brigading ou dogpiling, c'est-à-dire, engager continuellement un autre utilisateur dans une conversation ou une discussion après que ledit utilisateur a demandé que cet engagement s'arrête

Infractions majeures

Si le contenu est classé comme une infraction majeure, il est supprimé et entraîne la suspension immédiate du compte fautif. En outre, le titulaire du compte sera signalé aux autorités, s'il y a lieu.

• Des représentations explicites d'enfants
• Contenu illégal en Suisse , tel que les discours de haine
• Promotion de l'idéologie du national-socialisme
• Limiter l'accès d'autres utilisateurs dégrader les performances de cette instance
