Welcome to subdued.social, the regional Mastodon instance for the area around Bellingham, Washington, the "City of Subdued Excitement". Bellingham is located on the territory of the Lhaq’temish (Lummi) and Nuxwsa’7aq (Nooksack) people.

Inspired by local servers like social.seattle.wa.us, pdx.social, pnw.zone, and sanjuans.life, this instance is for people who want a local feed that is primarily but not exclusively about #BellinghamWA content, but who also want to be able to federate with servers on any topic all around the world.

In this instance we encourage the use of the #BellinghamWA hashtag for tagging your Bellingham content. If you just use #Bellingham these days (without the "WA") your feed will be filled with content about English soccer prodigy Jude Bellingham. :)

This instance is run by @alan@subdued.social, co-moderated by @morganm@subdued.social, and is actively recruiting additional moderators.
