What is this?Rathe Social is an unofficial Mastodon instance for people interested in Flesh and Blood TCG. This site was set up to be a great place for FaB fans to get together and discuss the game, life, or anything really, while also being a jump-off point to other Mastodon instances.
DisclaimerRathe Social is in no way affiliated with Legend Story Studios. Legend Story Studios®, Flesh and Blood™, and set names are trademarks of Legend Story Studios. Flesh and Blood characters, cards, logos, and art are property of Legend Story Studios.
Why?The recent changes at Twitter have caused a surge in hate speech directed at many marginalized groups. This has led to a lot of people wanting to abandon Twitter and move to other platforms to avoid harassment. Mastodon is uniquely structured to prevent this by allowing us to block any instance that allow that kind of behavior. If you see an instance that's continually posting harmful content with no moderation, let an admin or moderator know so we can decide whether to block the instance.
Twitter has also recently banned posting links to other social media or linktrees, trying to halt the flow of users out of its site. This may seriously impact many FaB content creators who won't be able to advertise their content on Twitter anymore. While Mastodon isn't as great at discovery beyond the local timeline as Twitter, FaB content creators and players here are free to link to their content and other social media.
What is Mastodon?Mastodon is similar to Twitter, and you can get a quick understanding by reading
these tips, or for a bit more depth, you can read
this article to get a good understanding. The core difference with Mastodon is that, unlike Twitter, content is spread across a web of instances. In order for a post from another instance to get to your local instance, you need to be following the author, or someone you follow needs to boost the post.
One way I've found for discovering content you like is to browse the federated timeline, find an account/post you like, then visit their mastodon instance (click the three dot menu -> "View original page" on a post/account) and check out their local timeline to find similar accounts. You can also go to the larger mastodon instances and search hashtags for topics you're interested to find accounts to follow. Once you've found one or a few accounts, come back here and paste their account in the search bar to follow them.
Code of ConductPlease follow the Server Rules in the section lower down on this page. If you do not, your posts will be subject to moderation. If you continually disregard the rules, your account may be suspended. I will try my best to moderate things fairly, but I am only human. Some general guidelines for posting (borrowed from mastodon.world):
- Do not post about inflammatory, controversial subjects without a Content Warning. Ideally, you would not post about inflammatory subjects at all. However, it may be acceptable to do so in some cases, but it is never acceptable to post inflammatory content without hiding the content behind an appropriate Content Warning.
- Do not post any type of nudity without a Content Warning.
- Do not engage in name calling, ad hominem attacks, or any other uncivil behaviour. Criticize ideas, never people.
- Do not report every post that upsets you. Please report posts that violate our rules but for others that you may find distasteful, or just don’t like, use the tools available to you. You can block the user or mute the conversation.
