WHO WE ARE
Clinicians Exchange provides a forum for mental health professionals to exchange ideas, resources and expertise including but not limited to ethics, politics, practice building, and clinical issues. It is designed to be a place where practitioners of many disciplines and settings can receive camaraderie and support in our rewarding but challenging work.

PLEASE JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST DISCUSSION
We also have an email listserv with slightly higher confidentiality where professional emails are presumably not subject to being read by the world. Please consider joining us there too at clinicians-exchange.org.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Also note SERVER RULES below.

This is a place for professional conversations not for personal psychological help or referrals.

Posts should be related to the practices of professional psychology, counseling, social work, neuroscience, and allied professions. Peer support is allowed.

We intend to protect all members of our community from harassment and to ensure that our community is as welcoming and inclusive as possible regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, political affiliation, or other similar characteristics.

We wish to create a supportive community where people freely share their passions and are excited and optimistic about each other's successes.

We also work to protect our community from harassment, malicious or illegal content, and individual members whose goals are to disrupt our community and promote their own self-interest at the expense of the community.
Instance rules
  1. Conversations must be respectful. Please alert the moderators if there is a post that needs to be addressed.
  2. First & last name, professional credentials, & geographical location at the large territory level (state/province/country) are encouraged in your profile. **WE DO ALLOW PSEUDONYMS HOWEVER** Upon request -- we will approve 2nd accounts so you can have a professional account and a pseudonym account.
  3. Members should be mental health professionals, retirees, or graduate students. This is BROADLY DEFINED -- licensed advanced degree people, para-professionals at group homes & day programs. Association staff. State health board staff. No proof of mental health employment normally needed.
  4. Advertising and marketing on the forum are expressly prohibited. You are welcome to advertise in your profile, but not directly to the server.
  5. This forum is NOT confidential. All messages are archived on the web and can be widely read. Do not say anything that would compromise anyone’s confidentiality or violate your professional ethics in any way. This is an open-door meeting and should be treated as such. NO CLIENT CASE STUDIES!
  6. We encourage the use of hashtags such as: "#OT" and "#watercooler" -- for off-topic and personal discussions "#political" -- for political topics (which must remain polite and at least vaguely tied to psychology) Some other good hashtags: "#sundaysalon" "#strictlybusiness" "#COVID"
  7. We encourage the use of Content Warnings so that community members can decide whether they want to engage with a post that may be controversial or explicit.
  8. The information distributed may or may not have been checked for accuracy. By your use of this forum, you agree to hold harmless the forum owners, moderators, and all contributors against any and all claims arising out of such use, regardless of the cause, effects, or fault.
