The greater Ottawa region exists on the traditional unceeded territory of the Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk), Omàmìwininìwag (Algonquin), and Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide this service to people present in this territory.
Nous voulons operer un serveur bilingue; les traductions sont en cours. Votre patience est appréciée à cet égard.

Data LocationOttawa.place user data is stored within Canada, in a server in OVH's Montreal datacentre, along with Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Canada region. Media uploads are stored on AWS's global CDN. Encrypted daily database backups are stored in AWS S3. This may change from time to time but we will do our best to 1) keep things in Canada as much as possible and 2) keep users posted if we need to make big changes to how we store things.
Instance ContinuityIf we ever decide to cease running this instance, in accordance with the
Mastodon Server Covenant, we commit to a 3-month advance notice before turning off any infrastructure, to allow users to export their content and migrate to a new server.
