Short description
A mastodon community dedicated to Free Software enthusiasts and supporters. Open to anyone and supports free discourse of any form.
Long description
Code of Conduct

The GNU/Linux Social exists to provide a community forum for those dedicated to free software and its supporters, but/and open to free discourse of any form.

Our community is united in wanting to discuss and learn about Free Software, including the implementation and technical details of software/hardware, and the surrounding political and ethical implications that come with supporting user freedom.

GNU/Linux Social works on the premise that all ideas are worthy of discussion if a shared respect and courtesy for one another is maintained. Critical questions and thought partnering, and minority dissent, only serve to empower and make communities stronger. Exceptions to this include targeted harassment, abuse, or incitations to violence.

In the case of disputes, GNU/Linux Social admin team is the final arbiter of what constitutes acceptable behavior.

Making a Complaint

If you experience or witness disturbing behavior within the community that violates our community's Code of Conduct and you do not feel comfortable confronting the individual(s), we ask that you email webmaster@haacksnetworking.org and make a complaint. Our admin team will respect your anonymity and endeavor to make a decision as quickly as possible. Please note that differences of opinion, however divergent, are not considered grounds for a complaint.

This Code of Conduct was composed by Jonathan Haack of Haack's Networking, a Free Software IT firm dedicated to educators and small businesses. If you have suggestions for the Code of Conduct, please email webmaster@haacksnetworking.org. This Code of Conduct may be reused or adapted under the terms of GNU Free Documentation License.
