The GNU/Linux Social (glsocial) is a Mastodon instance for people devoted to Free Software principles and the surrounding culture/background. The instance is open to everyone and while Free Software posts and discussion are recommended, members are allowed to post on other topics. The glsocial is an official instance of the Public GNU/Linux Users Group (pubglug). If you are interested in becoming a member of the GNU/Linux Social, please register and apply.
Our community is united in wanting to discuss and learn about Free Software, including the implementation and technical details of software/hardware, and the surrounding political and ethical implications that come with supporting user freedom. GNU/Linux Social works on the premise that all ideas are worthy of discussion if a shared respect and courtesy for one another is maintained. Critical questions and thought partnering, and minority dissent, only serve to empower and make communities stronger.
