Reporting / Moderation Notes

If you see content which you believe is in breach of these rules, please report it for review,
it is very important for us, as it makes our work easier and this instance a more enjoyable place.
Please note however that repeately falsely reporting users is not welcomed and are treated as feature-abuse.

In case you broke our rules by mistake, we may try to reach out to you so please make sure not to block the team of mastodon.pub.solar.

These guidelines are not a legal document, they're here to provide you with an insight into our moderation policies. Final interpretation is up to the administration of mastodon.pub.solar and the administration reserves the right to revoke any user's access permissions, at any time, for any reason, except as limited by law.

Federation status

pub.solar does not believe in censorship. Federation is a network service and suspension of federation with another server will only be implemented as a last resort where content from another server may cause problems under German law, or in cases of technical difficulties or hostile or malicious activity. If we need to suspend federation or silence another instance for one/some of these reasons, it will be noted here (further below). Did we make a wrong decision in your opinion? Ping us!

(Note: you can still communicate with users on silenced instances; their posts will not appear in our public timelines. You will not be able to see posts made by users on suspended instances.)

Reporting an issue

For technical issues, use the administrator contact information listed under "Contact".
For content or abuse issues:

• if you're a user on mastodon.pub.solar you can use the "Report Abuse" function on the post you would like to report;
• if you're not a user on mastodon.pub.solar, or you're an administrator of another server who would like to discuss an abuse report you received about one of our users, please use the administrator email listed under "Contact"

For privacy reasons, we will not discuss abuse reports in public channels.

Privacy

Please remember that nothing on the internet is really private and consider anything you say saved forever. Mastodon is not a secure channel for sensitive communication.

mastodon.pub.solar does not use advertising or external analytics software and does not sell your information.
