Üdvözlünk a Mastodonon!

Sikeres belépés után felmerül a fejedben, mi is a Mastodon? Minek? Röviden, olyan, mint a Twitter, csak központosított helyett egy föderált platform. Ebből kifolyólag a Mastodon közösségek kiszolgálókra (vagy instance-okra) vannak osztva, a mi szerverünk a  mastodon.elte.hu. Azért gyűlünk itt össze, hogy hatékonyan és lényegre törően tudjunk megosztani gondolatokat és fontos információkat egymás között, külső zavaró tényezők nélkül.

Ismerkedjünk meg a Mastodonnal!

Ha ismered a Twittert, akkor könnyedén fogsz tudni párhuzamot húzni a kettő között. Ha saját gondolatot akarsz megosztani, tülkölsz (tweet), ha tetszik más ember tülkje, megoszthatod a saját idővonaladon megtolással (retweet), és közölheted is vele tetszésedet egy kedvenccel (csillag). Megjegyzést is fűzhetsz egy tülkhöz.

Bal oldalon tudsz saját tülköt írni, 500 karakteres korláttal, alapvető és egyedi emojikkal. Tudsz fájlokat csatolni, szavazást létrehozni, meg tudod jelölni CW-vel (content warning), hogy érzékeny témába tapintasz. Van még ott egy földgömb ikon, mellyel kiválaszthatod, hogy kik láthatják a tülködet. Kiválaszthatod azt is, hogy közvetlen üzenet, ha valakivel privátban akarsz beszélni üzenet formájában. Használd a hashtag rendszert, ha azt akarod, hogy megtalálják a bejegyzéeidet a keresőben. Három idővonalra van osztva a felület (saját, helyi, föderációs). Helyi idővonalon az ELTE szerveren belüli felhasználók aktivitását látod, míg a Föderációs idővonalon a helyi idővonalbeli tülköket + azok tülkjeit, akit követnek a szerver lakosai.

Szerverünk szabályzata nagy vonalakban

1. Tartsd be az ELTE Etikai Kódexében foglalt szabályokat! (https://www.elte.hu/file/ELTE_Etikai_Kodex.pdf) 
2. Ne posztolj olyat, ami mást kellemetlenül érint! (Például pornográf, erőszakos tartalmat)
3. Ne spamelj, és ne használd a platformot a hallgatói közösség számára irreleváns hirdetésekre!
4. Profiladatok választásakor is tartsd be ezen szabályokat!
5. A szenzitív, másokat esetleg felkavaró tartalmakat rejtsd el content warninggal!

Egyéb platformok

Telefonos böngészőn keresztül is kényelmesen használható a Mastodon, de ha inkább appon keresztül tülkölnél és tolnál meg tülköket, ajánlott alkalmazásaink: Tusky (Android), Amaroq (iOS)

Welcome to Mastodon!

You might scratch your head after logging in, what’s all this? What’s the point? Long story short, it’s just like Twitter, but instead of being centralised it’s a federated platform. Because of this, Mastodon is separated into servers (or so-called instances), our instance is mastodon.elte.hu. We came together in order to efficiently and clearly share our thoughts and important information without anything that might disturb us.

Let’s get to know Mastodon!


If you’re familiar with Twitter, then you’ll find that many things work similarly here. If something is on your mind, you can toot it (tweet), if you like someone’s toot, go ahead and boost it(retweet), and you can also tell the writer that you liked it by marking it as a favourite (star). And yes, obviously you can comment under a toot.

You can compose a toot in the left side of the interface, with a 500 character limit. Make it unique with our basic and custom emojis, it’s fine if you need to attach a file, make a poll, or warn others with CW (Content Warning) that you’re tooting about a sensitive topic. Also there’s a globe icon there which allows you to select who is allowed to see your toot. There you can also choose Direct Message if you want to keep it between two or more people. Use our hashtag system, if you want people to find your post in the search results.The column in the center where you see all the toots, which is filtered by the settings on the right. There are three timelines (home, local, federative). The Home timeline shows content from those tooters and boosters you follow. On Local timeline you will see activity by users within our own ELTE instance, while on the Federated timeline the local toots + those users’ posts, whom our members follow can be seen.

   When posting sensitive and/or intimidating content, mark it with content warning button, this way it will be hidden!
