Azrak Social is a general purpose Mastodon instance run by Azrak Group in the United Kingdom.

Age verification

You need to confirm you are 18 or over to create an account.

This is a UK legal requirement under the Online Safety Act, not a policy of ours.

We do it in the way that gives away the least. Your device confirms your age and tells us one thing: whether you are over 18. We do not receive your date of birth, your name, or which document you used. We never see or store an ID, and there is no face scan or selfie check. You verify once with Apple, and we get a yes or a no.

Azrak builds on Apple platforms, so that is what we support first and support properly. Verification on other devices is on the way.
