ARD.social ist eine Basis für die Auftritte der ARD im Netzwerk #Fediverse, einem Zusammenschluss aus verschiedenen Plattformen und Projekten. Regionale und bundesweite Marken, Sendungen, Programme und Institutionen des föderalen Medienverbunds können Profile bei ARD.social erstellen. Betrieben wird die Mastodon-Instanz ARD.social vom Norddeutschen Rundfunk (NDR).
