nutmeg.social is a Mastodon server for anyone in the #Connecticut area

Is this connected to the old nutmeg.social?

No. This is a brand new server.

nutmeg.social was a mastodon server between 2022—2024. It was abandoned in 2024, the reason is not known.

In September 2025, the domain was purchased by @chris@nutmeg.social and a new Mastodon server was created. Old nutmeg.social accounts and posts cannot be recovered.

Privacy

nutmeg.social runs on a masto.host server in France.

Putting the server outside the jurisdiction of the United States affords Connecticut residents greater data privacy.

Unlike almost all social platforms, Mastodon and nutmeg.social do not use your posts to train ai. In fact, nutmeg.social blocks all bots from accessing user posts and profiles.

Longevity

I've been a regular Mastodon user since 2022 and remain committed to Mastodon. If I cannot continue to run nutmeg.social, I'll make every attempt to work with the community to transfer ownership.
