This search engine for Mastodon instances is based on a database that gets updated by our crawler every night (CET).

Instances are considered new for 30 days after they are discovered.

When an instance has not responded to our daily checks for more than 30 days it is no longer considered in statistics and searches and it gets checked only on the first of the month, rather than daily, until it possibly responds again, or until its last succesful check is one year old; in this latter case, from that moment it gets checked only on the first day of each year.

“Random ordering” of results varies daily.

Default search criteria reflect our fondness for a decentralized and egalitarian Fediverse and our attempt to exclude instances accepting fascist, racist, sexist, ableist, sovereignist, pro-nuclear and pedopornographic contents by marking them as noxious.

  2. No hate speech ... No aggressive, mocking, or undermining statements about any group of people for things they can not change about themselves. This includes but is not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or casteism.
  3. No harassment, dogpiling or doxxing of other users
  4. Sexually explicit or violent media must be marked as sensitive when posting. Low-res video game violence only needs to be marked if it has graphic blood.
  5. No sharing of copyrighted material like roms that you don't hold the copyright for. This puts the entire community in jeopardy.
  6. No sharing AI-generated artwork that uses copyrighted artwork in the training dataset.
  7. No limited edition digital assets or cryptocurrencies can be promoted or sold here.

What are our goals? In the broadest sense Apricot Systematic is devoted towards communication, human communication. We believe that machines are simply a form of mirror or lens that people can use between themselves and on themselves. Every program, every machine, no matter how abstract, arcane, or seemingly removed from the common nature of human existence was created to serve as a conduit for human interaction. Even if it is an old archaic COBOL program written to count the number of checks written on a bank in a month it shares this purpose.

We want to help bring together book lovers, food enthusiasts, world event followers, Japan aficionados, and individuals of diverse orientations, cultures, and backgrounds. The platform offers a space for members to share their passions, connect with like-minded individuals, and engage in meaningful conversations in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Welcome to procursus.social!

We run a general Mastodon instance for Procursus, contributors, and everyone else!

What’s special about this instance?

The Procursus Mastodon instance has a focus on reliability and speed, as well as continued and constant support. We are a smaller instance, but we are scaled to reliably support thousands of users, and terabytes of media. We will NEVER delete cached posts, and we only removed cached media after a full year (it will be re-cached if needed). We have also made some changes to Mastodon specific to our server, such as increasing toot size to 5k characters! We are going to continue making this server as great as possible for the amazing developers and users here, with stellar, immediate support.

For the safety of users on our instance, we regularly import the latest FediNuke and Garden Fence instance blocklists. Other instances may also be blocked at our discretion should we find that they encourage offensive content.

This is the Mastodon server of the Institute of Nursing Science (INS), Department of Public Health (DPH) at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel.

https://mstdn.nursing.unibas.ch is an online community to connect INS staff, students, alumni and collaborators with the fediverse. Registration requires approval by INS admins. Follow others

Thousands of scientists are active on Mastodon, and you can follow all of them. It does not matter which instance (server) they are on. Mastodon has no algorithm that determines what is shown on your home timeline. Follow generously to populate this timeline. The federated timeline shows all posts of users people on https://mstdn.nursing.unibas.ch are following. This is why it is important to follow others. When you newly follow someone, you will not see any or very few posts. Mastodon does not backtrack past posts of people. They will pop-up if you follow them and they post ('toot') something.

Boosts and #hashtags

Mastodon does not have 'likes', so boosts are a great way to get visibility for a post. Also, remember to use hashtags in your posts, as these also help to increase visibility. You can follow specific #hashtags. If you see a #hashtag in a post you are interested in, click on it and follow the hashtag. This way you find also posts from people you do not follow.

Groups

Similar like #hashtags you can follow groups, which connects posts of people using the group's name. For example, if you follow @nursingresearch@a.gup.pe and use the hashtags #nursres #nursingresearch, you can easily share your posts with people who follow @nursingresearch@a.gup.pe. This works for all sorts of topics. Visit https://a.gup.pe/ to find more groups or to create your own.
