oldfriends.live is a small specialty server with a few accounts, currently invite only, and runs on the Mastodon open-source platform. We are fully federated and connected to the over ten million, and growing, people on the #fediverse that you can follow and interact with.

We're home of the popular 9 o'clock HashTagGames. One new hashtag game every day at 9PM EST, (6PM PT / 2AM BST / 3AM CEST / 11AM AEST / 1PM NZST). We encourage all users to add #HashTagGames to every game play so non-players can mute new daily games in their filters instead of muting every new game.

Question: How do I send a DMCA notice to get infringing material taken down from oldfriends.live?

Answer: You may send a DMCA notice to DMCA@oldfriends.live. Your DMCA notice should:

*include your signature or the signature of a person authorized to act on your behalf (your “agent”) (the signature can be either physical or electronic); *identify the copyrighted work that is being infringed; *identify the activity that is infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the infringing activity on its site; *include your email address and any other information to allow the service provider to contact you or your agent directly; *include a statement that your or your agent has a good faith belief that the activity is unauthorized; and *include a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that your agent is authorized to act on your behalf.

Reporting and moderation

When reporting accounts, please make sure to include at least a few posts that show rule-breaking behavior, when applicable. If there is any additional context that might help make a decision, please also include it in the comment. This is especially important when the content is in a language nobody on the moderation team speaks.

We usually handle reports within 24 hours. Please mind that you are not notified when a report you have made has led to a punitive action, and that not all punitive actions are externally visible. For first time offenses, we may opt to delete offending content, escalating to harsher measures on repeat offenses.

Cross-posting

"Cross-posting" is the automatic copying of posts from one platform to another. That definition does not include the simultaneous posting to multiple platforms from the same app, such as Twidere or PostyBirb. If you use those apps, we consider those posts original, and the following need not apply.

Cross-posting from Mastodon to other platforms is fully permitted. Cross-posting into Mastodon from another platform is permitted under the following terms:

1. The posts do not include platform-specific references, e.g. talking about "here" meaning Twitter, or including text from other non-Mastodon users verbatim (e.g. cross-posted quote tweets)
2. The account is at least semi-regularly monitored by the author, so that interactions from Mastodon users are not ignored
3. The account being cross-posted is owned by the same person. Third-party copying of content is not permitted
