Welcome to Maker Social!
What We Are
Maker Social is a social networking space for makers, by makers.
Who we are
Maker Social is an independent, non-profit effort initiated by Steve Scotten and Blaise Hartley, two members of the Tech Valley Center of Gravity, an amazing makerspace, co-working space, prototyping center, and incubator in Troy NY. It is our hope that once it takes off, Maker Social will be officially adopted by the TVCOG as a permanent contribution to and haven for the maker movement in general, and the Tech Valley maker community in particular.
Philosophy
Maker Social is intended to be an inclusive, friendly home for makers, artists, tinkerers, and creators of all kinds to venture out into the burgeoning corporation-free social media space.
We aren't here to promote politics or ideology, we are here to build a community to encourage and assist every kind of creator in freely sharing their work and thoughts with other creators.
